Review and sign a manual revision

For: Users assigned an approval step for a manual revision
Last checked: 7 October 2026, local Vega demo v1.126.2

An approval is a decision on a particular manual revision. Check the manual title and revision before signing.

Review the changes

  1. Open Manuals and go to your approvals. Under Your turn, select Review and sign for the revision. You can also follow the approval link sent to you by email.
  2. Check the manual title, revision label, and the approval route.
  3. Use Next change and Previous change to inspect every changed item and the editor's explanation. For an updated manual, switch between Changes marked and Side by side when useful.
  4. Read the proposed text and compare it with the revision in force. The change counter tells you how many items you have opened.

An item waiting for an earlier approver is visible but cannot be signed yet. The decision controls also remain unavailable if you are not assigned to the approval route or if you edited the revision and cannot approve your own work.

Record your decision

  • To approve, select Approve and sign, draw your signature, optionally add a comment, and select Sign. The signature, your name, and the decision time are recorded for this revision.
  • To send the revision back, select Decline, explain why, and select Decline and send back. The editor receives your reason. The corrected revision must go through approval again.

Check the confirmation after submitting. Your decision then appears under Signed by you. If the content is unclear or the revision is wrong, resolve that issue before signing.
